GIS in Public HealthGIS supports public health on small to large scales, from managing the departmental functions that run the day-to-day operations of a health organisation to epidemiology mapping performed by public health officials.
The University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health Research and Service (US) runs a Web site that provides maps of its various public projects within Chicago. These range from community outreach for AIDS education to evaluating the impact of cigarette taxes on youth cigarette smoking.
